Vroom Tip: Water Walk
Offer your child a container filled with water. Invite them to water the plants. Show them how the water makes marks in the dirt or on the sidewalk. Encourage your child to wonder what is happening and to ask questions.
Fun experiences in nature encourage curiosity and interest in the outdoors. These help develop science ideas, like understanding what happens when dirt and water mix. Notice what else might be happening in the environment around you. When you help your child wonder, ask questions and find out more about their experiences, you give them words that help them make sense of what they’re learning about in the world.
